During the remainder of his time at Grinnell, William Kiyasu worked at the College Library, President’s Office, and served as a research assistant in the Zoology Department.

Wiliam was also involved with the Board of Religion at Grinnell College and several other intramural teams.

Before graduating in 1944, Kiyasu was noted by his peers as having "world's champion cheerful attitude."

Following his graduation from Grinnell in 1944, Kiyasu entered Harvard Medical School.
